Let’s learn more about what Hydrafacials can do for you.
What is a Hydrafacial®?
Unlike regular facials, Hydrafacials® use a vacuum suction wand to deeply cleanse the skin by opening the pores, extracting impurities, and exfoliating dead skin cells – all in one session. The vacuum suction wand is what’s known as a hydradermabrasion device. Unlike traditional microdermabrasion, which can be abrasive on some skin types, the Hydrafacial® technology cleanses your pores while moisturizing and protecting your skin.
Due to its hydrating qualities, Hydrafacials® are safe for most skin types. You may also receive booster serums with your Hydrafacial®. Serums delivered at the end are one of the factors that set Hydrafacials® apart from other skin treatments like microdermabrasion and really give patients that post-treatment glow along with lasting skin correction.

What to Expect
From a Hydrafacial®
Exfoliation
Exfoliation is the process of removing a layer of dead skin cells. It’s done across many aesthetic treatments for its known benefits, like promoting cellular turnover and revealing brighter skin, clearing debris out of the pores, and even stimulating collagen production over time. In a Hydrafacial®, the Vortex technology delivered by tips on the handheld treatment device generates swirling fluid while the vacuum suction removes dead skin cells. This allows for an effective yet gentle exfoliation.
Hydrate and Extract
Your aesthetician will then use the Hydrafacial® treatment device to open your pores and remove debris while delivering moisturizers to the skin.
Infuse with Serums
With the Deluxe and Platinum packages, your Hydrafacial® experience includes serums selected for your particular skin concerns, also called boosters. These may be aimed at reducing fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, large pores, acne, or dull skin.
Benefits of a Hydrafacial®
Thicker, Healthier Hair
Hydrafacials® work to stimulate hair growth and health for nearly everyone. Even if you aren’t actively struggling with hair loss, each of us deals with distressed hair from daily living. Many of us have product buildup in hair follicles or have itchy, dry, and flaky scalps. A Hydrafacial® can promote healthy hair follicles, prevent hair thinning and loss, and prevent dandruff with those of us who still have our luscious locks. And for clients struggling with thinning or balding, Hydrafacials® promote growth, nourish the scalp, and complement other hair restoration treatments. Most importantly, you’ll experience increased confidence from having healthier, happier hair.
Improved Hydration and Overall Skin Tone
Philadelphia Facial Plastic Surgery & Medspa picks active ingredients to use in our Hydrafacials® that can increase skin hydration over time and improve the look of your skin, especially if you consistently get Hydrafacial® treatments. Our serums are designed to target your skincare needs while deeply hydrating and providing comprehensive skincare with ingredients like gold-stabilized Vitamin C.
Healthier Skin and Increased Collagen Production
What makes Hydrafacials® different is the delivery of customized serums at the end of treatment. The booster serums aren’t just effective in immediately giving you the glow that Hydrafacials® are known for – they’re effective in building stronger skin over time such as boosting long-term collagen production or reducing excessive pigment.
Preliminary studies show that the use of serums post microdermabrasion treatment show increased skin thickness, antioxidant levels, and fibroblasts – the cells that make collagen. The makers of Hydrafacial backs these findings up, with their 2023 report showing the same results. Hydrafacials® don’t just make you look better – they’re a long-term solution for better skin health.
